Tennessee Breweries

Jackalope Brewing Company: Jackalope was one of the early breweries that grew up in Nashville before the brewery boom engulfed the region, and it is still one the best. When it was originally opened by a friend of mine, Steve, it was in an out-of-the-way, up and coming area. Well the area has come of age, and Jackalope is now in one of the hippest areas of the city. The beer is great, I enjoyed the Jackalope IPA and the Fennario IPA, both great choices. They have food, tons of space, a full bar and are kid friendly. That said, the brewery has become so popular, that it can, at times, be overwhelming. I was there on a Tuesday, and they were having trivia, as well as two corporate events. There were probably 400 people there. Great for Steve, not great if you are looking for a local haunt. It’s definitely on the list of must-try breweries in Nashville, but it is not longer one of Nashville’s best kept secrets (as of 10.26)
